7:30 p.m. &nbs= p; =20 The service of = Tenebrae (meaning=20 "darkness" or "shadows") dates from the 5th century Church. It is a

tradition, used in the last days of Holy Week, = to=20 impress upon the hearts of believers the awful consequences of sin and = the=20 magnitude of the Savior's sacrifice. This service includes Communion, = scripture=20 reading and the gradual extinguishing of candles lighting the=20 sanctuary.
